      Know: God used Peter to spread the gospel to the Gentiles.

      Think: The church’s mission is to reach everyone for Christ.

      Do: Share God’s Word with others.

      Whether we have personally experienced favoritism or not, we all can think of moments when it’s been prevalent in society. During the early days of the church, God eradicated favoritism. He broke down the walls between Jews and Gentiles, making the way for us to receive forgiveness.

      Know: Jesus’ followers continued to share the Good News with others.

      Think: Remember the example of the disciples when telling others about Jesus and when praying.

      Do: Ask God for courage to share the truth with others.

      It takes perseverance to keep going when we face difficulty or opposition.

      Think: Our thoughts, words, and actions should honor Christ.

      Do: We are to honor Christ because He is worthy of our worship.

      In this passage, we see how the church was born, and how they started carrying out the purposes and characteristics of the risen Lord.

      Know: Abraham trusted and obeyed God, and God provided a ram to be used for a sacrifice.

      Think: God gives us grace.

      Do: Choose to obey God with a good attitude.

      Each of us has items or possessions that carry great value for us. If we were called to give them up, we would consider it a great sacrifice. In this passage, we see how God called Abraham to sacrifice the most important thing in the world to him, and how he responded.

      Know: God made a covenant with Abraham to bless all the families of the earth through him.

      Think: God is faithful to keep His promises.

      Do: Trust God’s goodness and presence in your life, and know He always keeps His promises.

      A lot of promises are made in our society, some we believe, and some we do not. In this passage we see what God promised to Abraham, and how Abraham responded to those promises.

      Know: God confused the language of the people who allowed pride to influence their choices.

      Think: Pride leads people away from God.

      Do: Praise and thank God for His blessings each day.

      Amazingly, the art of tower building dates back to Genesis 11. The descendants of Noah set out to build an impressive tower, and God had a very interesting response.

      Know: God flooded the earth, but spared Noah, his family, and the animals in the ark.

      Think: God is gracious, loving, and merciful.

      Do: Follow Noah’s example, and demonstrate faith and obedience to God.

      Grace and judgment seem to be strange bedfellows. We would not expect to see them in the same event. However, God brought both grace and judgment through a great flood.

      Know: Noah followed and was obedient to God, even when it didn’t make sense.

      Think: God is merciful, and He loves and cares for us.

      Do: Demonstrate your faith in God through obedience to His Word.

      Almost every Christian would agree that it is important to obey God, yet that can be difficult to do at times. It is sometimes easier said than done. One man proved he believed God by doing what God said to do.

      Know: The Holy Spirit comforts, corrects, guides, teaches, and empowers us.

      Think: The Holy Spirit lives in us and helps us live for Christ.

      Do: Trust and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in your life.

      The Spirit of truth within us provides an internal testimony to the truth about Jesus. The Spirit points us to Christ and helps us live for Him and share the great news about Him.

      Know: Jesus is the greatest gift God gave the whole world.

      Think: The gift of Jesus is free to all who accept it.

      Do: Value the gift of Jesus in your thoughts, words, and actions.

      Sometimes we don’t understand why God asks us to do certain things or allows certain things to happen to us. But as this passage shows, one young Israelite girl was obedient in a difficult situation, and God used her obedience to bless the entire world.
