    • May 2016 Week 1

      Know: Heartache, difficulties, and tragedy interrupted Job’s life. He grieved, but stayed faithful to God.

      Think: Be aware there is a spiritual battle taking place over you. You gain a victory every time you remain faithful to God.

      Do: Keep trusting God when your circumstances overwhelm you. When you question “why” and don’t understand, trust that God knows best.

      Satan accused Job of serving and obeying God only for what He could get out of it. Job responded to testing, and his faithfulness in serving God built a strong foundation that would allow him to endure great trials and great suffering.

    • April 2016 Week 4

      Know: God is the perfect Father.

      Think: Grasp that through faith in Jesus Christ, we are children of the perfect Father.

      Do: Live in close relationship with the Father, love and obey Him, and invite others to become His children through faith in Christ.

      We should not be surprised that the God who designed the family is Himself “the Father.” But the word father raises different emotions and images to different people. God is both like, and unlike, our earthly fathers. What does it mean that God is our Father, according to the Bible?

      Know: Scripture likens God to a shepherd because He provides for, leads, protects, and rescues His people.

      Think: Realize that we have deep needs. God alone can meet these needs through our relationship with Him as our Shepherd.

      Do: Trust our Shepherd to lead and provide for you. Follow His example of compassionate, nurturing, selfless care for others.

      A competent shepherd works hard to take care of the needs of his flock, from finding lost sheep to providing protection and food. God is the Great Shepherd to us.

      Know: El Shaddai “God Almighty”, indiates His mighty power. It also testifies to His justice and mercy.

      Think: Understand that El Shaddai has power to judge, and power to save and bless.

      Do: Trust and depend completely on God as your holy, loving, powerful El Shaddai.

      Power is greatly coveted by many people, and some have great power in this world. God is the most powerful being there is, and He rightly uses His great power.

      Know: God’s names are an important way He reveals who He is and what He is like.

      Think: Recognize that God is both powerful and personal. He is the only true God and reveals Himself as able to do whatever He intends to do.

      Do: Learn as much as you can about God—who He is and what He is like.

      Just as names are a significant part of our lives, names play a significant role for people in the Bible, and for God. We can learn about biblical characters, and about God, from their names.

    • March 2016 Week 4

      Know: Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to His followers.

      Think: Remember that we serve a risen Savior who is coming back to get us.

      Do: Rejoice in your risen Savior and take His message to the world.

      No event in human history has had more impact on the world than the resurrection of Jesus. Had there been a body in the tomb when the disciples arrived there, every- thing would be different. The Resurrection changes everything.

      Know: Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.

      Think: Marvel that the King of the universe died to save us.

      Do: Worship and serve King Jesus out of appreciation for what He has done for us.

      Regardless of wealth, power, influence, or religious experience, all of mankind stands lost in sin. But, God did something to provide salvation for all who will trust in Him.

      Know: Christ served His disciples as an example of how they should serve one another.

      Think: Understand that we should humble ourselves and serve others.

      Do: Humble ourselves and serve others, no matter who they are.

      Serving others is not our first inclination. We are not servant-hearted by nature. A very important person humbled Himself to serve others and leave us an example to follow.

      Know: Christ moved people to faith through raising Lazarus from the dead.

      Think: Recognize that we have eternal life through faith in Christ who has power over death.

      Do: Lead the hurting to faith by showing compassion and proclaiming Christ as conqueror of death.

      There are lessons to learn from every story and event in the Bible. What lessons we can learn from Jesus raising a man from the dead? One lesson is that it is always worth waiting on God’s timing.

      Know: God answered the prayers of Christians that prayed for Peter who was arrested and put in prison.

      Think: God hears and answers our prayers in ways He knows best.

      Do: Pray for friends, especially those hurting.

      Herod the king was willing to go to great lengths to maintain his power and increase his popularity, even if it meant killing Christians. Nevertheless, God was in control of the entire situation. During the moments of severe persecution, the church was never abandoned.
